What is this Madness?

There has been a small, but thriving, board game community in the Pella area for some years. Many of us in this community have been able to experience larger board game conventions such as Geekway to the West or Cardboard Caucus. However, a good number of our community have not been able to enjoy these events. We are looking to bring that experience back and to the Pella area with a Micro-Convention.

The Plan

Date: August 5th, 2023

Time: 8:00 registration – 10:30 PM

Who: Anyone interested in a day full of board game play (Limited to 50 seats this year)

Cost: $25.00 (this covers breakfast, dinner, and door prizes…lunch is on your own)

Details

Standard Library Play
We will have a library of nearly 100 games available for checkout from the library. We ask that you have only one game checked out at a time. You are free to bring your OWN games…but at your OWN risk. Please keep in mind that library games are games owned by individuals and take care of them accordingly.

Trade Table

Trade Table allows you to trade a game for someone else’s game, without trying to figure out who wants what you have! Details coming soon.

Tournament Play
Depending on the interest at sign up we may have a few tournaments that happen during the day. If you signed up for those please be sure to attend the tournament at the appropriate time so you can play the game. If you are late for your allotted time you will likely be removed from the tournament. A small prize will be given for the top player in each tournament. If you have a tournament idea please submit it to Rob (RunRobRun@gmail.com) and he will approve it if the logistics make it possible.

Door Prizes
We will be offering door prizes for all who attend. You are automatically entered in the door prize via your registration. A list of prizes will soon be listed here. We are working on obtaining some designer-signed copies of games as well as some Geek bits and game artwork.
